Preschool Christmas Events

Cole had two fun things to celebrate Christmas last week at school.

On Monday, they had a Jesus Birthday Party where they decorated cookies for snack and did a book exchange.
Cate and I went to celebrate with them. Cate was most interested in the baby dolls and the kitchen set up!  She screamed when we told her it was time to go.
Cole also gave me a cute canvas that they had been working on during their art time.
Then on Thursday, he had his Christmas program. Tony, Cate, and I came to watch his show. They did a nativity play where Cole was one of the shepherds.
He had one line and did great with it!  He was nice and loud and you could actually understand what he said. Then they sang quite a few songs with motions and dancing. It was super cute!  We can't wait to watch it again on our DVD!

Santa Visit

We took Cole and Cate to visit Santa last weekend at our neighborhood event like we've done in all of our past visits.

Cole loved it and went right to Santa to ask for the Batcave and transforming Batmobile.
We talked to Cate about Santa for days and had her saying she would sit on his lap with Cole. Cate has a real aversion to men, so we would be shocked if this actually happened. We were right and she did NOT want to even get close to Santa. She dug her heels into the ground and started crying. It took a lot of convincing to even let me hold her to take this picture.
She did like the donuts!
Snowmen!
Cole was excited because we saw one of his friends from school too. They talked and played for a little bit and had a fun time together.

December Fun

We've had some unusually warm December weather that we've been taking advantage of...going to the park after school is always a favorite!
Tony and I had a shopping and dinner date night, but I think the kids had the best time with Uma while we were gone! We were home before they were that night!

She took them to see the gingerbread houses and lights and the Philbrook Museum.

They loved it!!
Then, she took them to dinner at Panera and back to her house for some fun bubble bath time before the headed home.

Cole was invited to a school friend's birthday party at Incredible Pizza. He had lots of fun being silly and playing games!

These two love running up and down the street in the evenings waiting for Daddy to come home!

We also had our first cookie decorating party with our neighbors across the street.
Cole spent a lot of time on his creations.  This cookie was only half decorated!
Cate just wanted to eat the frosting and sprinkles!
We have a few more decorating parties coming up, so maybe she will get the hang of it??!!

Elf Sally Visits Again

We have an elf that showed up on December 1st!  Her name is Elf Sally and she came with some gifts for Cole and Cate on her first morning.

They got fun Christmas headbands, Peeps candy, and Cole got a "light saver" and Cate got "princess bubble bath".
Elf Sally has visited every morning since and sometimes brings candy. We don't really respect the no touching rule for poor Sally.  Cate likes to carry her around in the mornings and give her some hugs. :)

Gingerbread Houses

On Sunday night, we also celebrated an early Christmas with Uma and Opa. We exchanged presents and went to TCC for their gingerbread house decorating night.
Cole and Cate had some great reactions to gift opening this year!  I'm going to have to make sure to take some pics and video on Christmas morning since I missed my chance this time around.

Look at the size of these gingerbread houses!
It took all of us to decorate it, but Cole had some great ideas for the house, and Cate even did a little bit of decorating!  (Let's be honest and say they both did a whole lot of eating too!)
Both sides of our finished product!
We hope that we are able to continue this tradition with Tony's family next year too!

Christmas Tree Time

The rest of our Thanksgiving guests left on Sunday morning, so we decided to chance it with the rain and go get our Christmas tree.
This was probably our fastest visit to the tree farm on record. We picked out our tree, took a few pics, and left to take our tree home.
The tree was a little wet by the time we got home, but we just let it dry a little bit before we set it up. It worked out just fine, and we were glad we didn't have to wait until the following weekend.

Razorback Engagement!

I need to get myself caught up before Christmas gets here and I'm really behind!

The day after Thanksgiving was a very exciting day!
Stacy and Gerrod got engaged!  Woo hoo!
We all went to Arkansas for the Razorback game, and Gerrod and Stacy made a visit to campus ahead of time where he proposed by her name on the sidewalk on campus. (I forget what that's called!)

We spent the rest of the day at the game in a suite with our family and Gerrod's parents who drove from OKC area to be there to celebrate too.
We could not have been happier to watch the game inside!  It was in the 40s and raining the entire day.
Stacy and Gerrod had ordered lots of food and drinks for us, and we just hung out and let the kids play around.
We had such a fun time!  The kids fell asleep before we even got to the highway to drive home!  Plus we are so happy for Stacy and Gerrod and can't wait for a wedding next year!

Thanksgiving Week

We had a fun Thanksgiving week with all of my family in town and Thanksgiving dinner with Tony's family as well.

Janet and David stayed for the week. The kids had tons of fun playing with them. They took Cole to see the Peanuts movie in 3D one afternoon.
We did a little bit of shopping one day and ate lunch at Old School Bagel.
Cole also got to play golf and eat lunch at Tulsa Country Club with Opa, Pop Pop and Tony.
My Mom and I took Cate on a few errands and treated her to a ride on the carousel at the mall. She was super excited about it and her purple horsey.
We spent most of Thanksgiving day inside since it got cold and rainy. But we had lots of food to cook!  We loved having a house full this year!  Every seat at our tables was taken!
We have lots to be thankful for this year!
