A Little Cuteness!

Just when you think they can't get any cuter...

Fourth of July Fun

We realized that we haven't been home for the Fourth of July in a few years and couldn't think of anything exciting that we had done in the past when we were here!  This year was different!  We started the day off with lunch at the new Slim Chicken's that just opened!  We love going there whenever we are in Fayetteville and were anxiously waiting for it to open here.
We had to send a pic to my Dad and Stacy to make them jealous. :)

After naps, we went to Tulsa Country Club with Tony's parents to check out their festivities. We got there earlier than most people seemed to because we knew Cate wouldn't make it to their fireworks show. We did get to enjoy the pool, complete with a super fun water slide!
Cole also tried out the rock climbing wall and the bounce houses.
He was super determined to make it up the wall as high as he could and started over quite a few times until he got it.
We also ate dinner there. They had lots of cookout food and fun music. Cate made it a long time and was having a great time for it being past her bedtime.
We got home around 9:00 when it started getting dark. Cole suddenly had a big interest in fireworks!  Luckily we were able to see at least four or five different houses that were shooting off fireworks just from our driveway. Cole and Cate loved watching them. Cate kept saying "pop!" and wasn't scared of them at all. We let them stay up a little bit, but they had no problem falling asleep to the noise of fireworks that night!

Kids Zone Time!

Last weekend at the golf tournament, we had some time on Sunday morning before Stacy played. We decided to take the kids to check out the Kids Zone because we had never done that before.

We had a few minutes before it opened, so we had to take a few pictures of all the Stacys around there!
Her winning there last year was kind of a big deal!

We were one of the first visitors to the Kids Zone. Cole saw the face painting and ran there first!
It was a serious face painting job!  Cole picked the Spider-Man design, of course!

They had so many fun things for the kids!  There were snacks (Go Gurt, apple slices, carrot sticks), crafts, video games, and a caricature artist in the large tent. Outside the tent there were large games like chess and checkers and a six hole putt putt course.
There was also covered seating to watch the gold in the 16th hole.

There were two instructors helping kids hit iron shots.
And best of all and ice cream truck with free Popsicles or Klondike bars!
Cate liked the Popsicle even more than Cole did!  She almost ate the entire thing before it started making a huge mess. She was one happy girl!
We ended up spending 45 minutes there, and I can pretty much say this was one of the kids favorite things for the weekend!  Most tournaments don't have such an awesome set up for little ones, but it really works at getting the kids excited to be at a golf tournament and can break up all the walking. We hope they have it again next year!  Now that we know what it's all about, I think we will be making more than one stop!

5k at the LPGA

We went back to Arkansas last weekend to watch Stacy play in the NW Arkansas tournament. We found out that they were going to have a 5k run this year and decided we should sign up and run. We also signed Cole up for the 1k fun run.

Cole with his race packet.
Let's talk about Cole Man first. Since Tony and I were both doing the 5k, we guilted Gerrod into running with Cole. They were quite the team. Cole even got to wear his new bright Nike's!
We got a few professional photos of him! He is quite the serious runner!
He had to wear all the gear from his race bag hence the cut off adult shirt, adult sized socks, and black eye sticker!  It was not optional in his mind!
He ended up placing 5th overall and was the first boy to finish!  His time was 7:27 for 1k. He did great!  We were especially excited to show him that he was 1st!
Tony and I both had our best 5k times here. It helped that the weather was cooler and cloudy from some rain the day before.
Cole ran through the finish with Tony!  Tony ran 19:00.05 and placed 9th overall and 2nd in his age group. I ran 20:42 and placed 20th overall and won my age group. I also was the 3rd female and won a $25 gift card to Wal Mart.

We were also super excited for my Mom because it was her first 5k where she was able to run the entire way!  Cole ran through the finish with her too, but he kind of took a head start and didn't wait for her. He just wanted to get another medal...but I don't think he did! :)

Arkansas Visit

The Monday after we got back from Toledo, we drove over to Arkansas to see Stacy...who we had just left the day before!  She was there for the week and weekend for the golf tournament there.

We met her at the course and let Cole hit some balls and have some fun before we went to lunch. Her caddie, Travis, and coach, Joe, were there too.
Cate really just wanted to hang out with Tay Tay.
Then we went to Slim's for lunch with all of them and went to Target to help Stacy get some baby gifts for a friend. We left her around 4:00 so she could do some work and we could get back for dinner and my Pilates class. The kids were so worn out!  I had an hour and a half of complete silence and had to wake them up when we got home!  It was worth the drive, as always, to get some extra time with Aunt Stace!
