Cate - 9 Months

What are we going to do with this girl?! She just keeps getting cuter and cuter! We passed her 9 month mark on Saturday! She has already had her 9 month check up where she measured 29.5 inches (97%) and weighed 20 pounds 7 ounces (80%). She also got her first flu shot at this appointment, but no vaccinations.
Cate is wearing size 6-12 month clothes and size 4 diapers. We've started putting her in a few pairs of shoes with the weather getting cooler and her feet are now a little bigger. Her feet seem to be the only small part about her right now. They are skinny and about a size 2 or 6-9 month, but those are still a little big on her.
Cate's sleeping schedule hasn't changed in the past month. Still two naps and sleeping 11 hours at night. She still uses the sleep sack and loves having her (well, used to be Cole's) stuffed monkey to sleep with. Actually monkey pretty much goes everywhere with us! She loves that thing!
I feel like we are making some good progress with baby food now. She's still nursing 4 times a day, but is now getting baby food 3 times a day in addition. I try to make it one fruit, one veggie, and one cereal. She loves sweet potato, squash, pears, peas, yogurt, and a few different mixes of fruits or veggies that we've tried. We are working on finger foods and feeding herself. She will feed herself Cheerios and goldfish, but hasn't gone for any fruits or veggies yet. She just kind of mushes them around. She does like biting off a banana if I'm holding onto it, and she did put some noodles in her mouth just last night. So I'm not sure if that was an accident, or if she's actually getting the hang of it.
I've tried giving her a sippy cup of water a few times, but she really just bites on the straw right now. So, she has a little work to do there. I also tried for a week to get her to drink from a bottle and that was a no go. Weaning will be interesting in a few months, I'm sure!
Cate loves crawling and pulling up on furniture these days. She is all over the house and has gotten pretty speedy. It's pretty funny to see the places she ends up! She does really well playing with her toys, and will play by herself or with one of us. She loves the flashlight that plays music, balls, little blocks, cars...pretty much anything she can get her hands on. But her favorites are the ones that play music. She also loves to pull up on the bathtub and turn on the water. She can't reach the water yet, but loves watching it go on and off. (I remember Cole doing the same thing!)
Cate has two teeth on the bottom right now, and the top ones should be coming in soon. She shows them off when she laughs and smiles.
She has started making more talking noises, even some screeches and screams. She knows how to high five and started to wave bye-bye just last night! She is usually pretty serious and won't laugh at just anyone, but Tony and Cole can really get her going. She loves getting on FaceTime on the iPad...she will smile and loves to see the other person on the screen.
I can't believe we are only 3 months away from her birthday! It's going to go by especially fast this time of year! Plus, she's going to grow and change so much...walking and feeding herself are just around the corner now. We love our Cate Girl and all the smiles and laughs she brings us!
