Easter Weekend

We had a nice little Easter celebration as a family this year. We usually don't have anyone in town or go anywhere for Easter, so it's kind of nice to just hang out and do our own thing (which isn't much!) We went to church for one of the Saturday night services. It's a little easier to get everyone going and out the door in the late afternoon. We had some time to take a few pictures before we left for church. They didn't turn out that great, but that's what you get with a 3 year old and a 3 month old!
After church we went out to dinner at Charleston's. It as a little interesting...Cole was great, but Cate had just eaten and didn't have time to fall asleep. So she was kind of fussy for us. Luckily it's not a quiet restaurant, so we didn't bother anyone. We did try to eat kind of quickly though.

Once we got home, we had a little Easter egg hunt for Cole. We wanted to do the egg hunt in Easter clothes, so that's why we decided to do it then. Cole knew what to do this time, and had fun running around the yard looking for his eggs. Some had candy and some had money (coins)...a combination of what Tony and I did as kids.
We had to get a few pictures of Cole with his basket. This is what you get when you ask him to smile sometimes...
And then we wait until we get a normal smile!
Easter morning was nice and relaxing. Cole and Cate slept in, and Cole was up first. I laid out these bunny paws with a message from the Easter Bunny for him. These came from my Mom, who saved them from when we were kids.
Then Cole had to find his Easter basket that was hidden.
He was excited to get some Peeps since he'd been talking about them since we said the word "Easter" weeks ago.
Cole got a few Easter bunny presents along with a swim suit for the summer. He also got presents from both grandparents and my aunt.
This cute little munchkin finally woke up and got to open her Easter gifts from everyone.
We also got a few sweet pictures of the two of them with their Easter baskets.

Cate is 3 Months Old!

Our sweet little girl turned 3 months old yesterday! This month hasn't gone by quite as quickly as the other ones, and we are able to enjoy our time with the little miss more and more. We are officially out of the newborn stage and the 24 hour eat/feed/sleep cycle, which has made things seem more back to normal.
Cate has been a great sleeper so far. She's a little more unpredictable with her nights than Cole was at this point. She has great nights, like last night when she slept from 8 PM to 8 AM (and we had to wake her up!) and some not so great nights when she wakes up crying at 3. On average, she's usually up between 6 AM and 7 AM though. During the night, she has also started to break out of her Miracle Blanket, which is part of the reason she will wake up crying. She works hard at it because I lay her down on the right end of her bed and she's all the way at the left with her feet up against the other end in the morning!
Her naps have also gotten better. She will take 2 hour naps 3 times a day. Although, sometimes she wakes up after and hour and cries, but will go back to sleep for another hour in the swing. She usually doesn't take a fourth nap unless we go on a walk or in the car. So she's often up from 4ish until 8, which is a long time for a baby. She's usually just being held by one of us while we are cooking, eating, and playing with Cole because she'll get a little fussy. It's like our family time though.
Cate is still a great eater. She's down to nursing 5 or 6 times a day and obviously gaining weight. :) I can't believe in a month we'll start thinking about starting rice cereal!
Cate started smiling last month, but she has added the laugh! It's hard to get her to do it, but she will! Tony was the first one to get her to laugh, but now she's laughed at Cole and I too. She has also started drooling a lot the past few weeks.
She is wearing size 2 diapers and 3-6 month clothes now. There are a few 3 month clothes she can still wear, but they are getting snug.
She is getting so strong and able to hold her head up so well these days! We've also seen her starting to roll to her side when she's on her back, but I'm sure she won't roll all the way over for a little while.
This is one of my favorites!!
She loves just observing everything that's going on! She loves watching Cole and interacting with him. It's so cute when she smiles at him! She also likes laying on her play mat or blanket, but she's also started to like sitting in the Bumbo for longer periods of time. She loves just being held by her hands to help her sit up too.
The two lovebirds! Cole couldn't miss out on pictures!
Cole took this one of Cate, and I had to include it because this is how her hands are 90% of the time! She has started putting them in her mouth and sucking on them especially when we are holding her up against our shoulder. It's mostly on her hand, not fingers, and she even gets red marks on them!
Here's the Cole Man at 3 months old.
We are enjoying our little Cate Girl so much! We can't believe we are already at 3 months and developing a solid, more predictable routine which makes things a lot easier. We are excited for next month with some travel and family visits coming up soon!

Cole's Best Day

Cole had a great day today and got to do a few things he loves!

We went to the zoo with his buddy, Mia this morning!
He is so fun to take to the zoo these days!  He's gotten to where he wants to know all about the animals. We had to get a picture with the lion fish since they are on Octonauts!
Then we got a call from Daddy saying he was going to drop off his car to have the tinting fixed, so we got to meet up with him for lunch. We let Cole pick one of his favorites, Raising Canes. He was pumped!

Then he took a nice long nap and woke up to a nice Easter basket gift from our neighbor, Mr. Howard!
What a day!!!

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

This was our first year to try out the Easter Egg Hunt held by our neighborhood every year. It takes place in one of the parks that we could walk to, and it's for kids off all ages, but I think the oldest kids there were probably 10 and came with younger siblings. Cole was in the 0-3 age group where the eggs were really just all out in the grass and the kids just ran out there and picked them up.
The Easter Bunny also made an appearance. Cole was fascinated with "that bunny". We had to get in line and have his picture taken before the egg hunt started. Which luckily worked out when everyone else left the line to go line up for the egg hunt. We snapped a few pictures and made it just in time.
Cole only had to wait a few seconds before the blew the horn to start his age group and he was off!
He was one of the few kids out there collecting eggs without help. He could have cleaned up in the egg hunt, but he got about 6 or 8 eggs in his basket and said that was enough. He wanted to sit down and open them to see what was inside.
He got excited because they had candy inside. Then we told him he could get more if he wanted to, and that didn't take much convincing.
But again, he just wanted to get a few more and open them up! Oh well. He also had to show Daddy all the candy he got when he "cracked those eggs."
After all the eggs were gone, the next age groups went. The whole thing took about 15 minutes! Those kids weren't playing around. We took some pictures together afterwards. Tony's Mom came with us since she was in town for a few more days. The weather was nice and the pictures turned out pretty cute!
