New Car Owners!

We found out last week that our Christmas present from Stacy was arriving in Tulsa over the weekend!  Last year she won a Kia Cadenza for the most top 10 finishes for the season, and she gifted that to us!  We sold Tony's Acura in early January and have been waiting since then.

We all went to the dealership to pick it up on Monday. Cole loves checking out the cars of course!

We waited a little bit for them to get the paperwork and had the keys in hand!

Then they had to set up Tony's account for all the fancy tech stuff that's integrated into an app on his phone. After that, we got to go check it out!
I took the kiddos home to let Tony talk with the guys about all the features and about 45 minutes later...
It was sitting in our driveway!  We are so excited and grateful to have this fancy new car!  Stacy spoiled us on this one for sure. We knew we would be in the market for a new car in a few years, but now we don't have to worry about that. Maybe I will get to drive it too?  If I can get the keys away from Tony. :)

Cate - One Month

Our Cate Girl turns one month old today! We have a Cole Man and a Cate Girl...Cole loves calling her girl. He says "hey girl" and "sweet girl" all the time. We are loving her so much and been adjusting well to being a family of four!
We've had a great month with our little miss! She's eating and sleeping well and developing a schedule pretty easily. She's eating 8 times, every 2.5 to 3 hours and taking naps after each feeding. She's had a few nights where she sleeps past the 3 hour feeding time early in the night, but it doesn't always happen. We usually get up for the day between 6 and 7 am, but she goes back to sleep not long after that for a nap. Cate is still sleeping in our room in the pack-n-play and takes naps there too or in the swing if she doesn't settle into a good sleep.
Cate's wearing size 1 diapers and 0-3 month clothes. She just recently started to not fit into the newborn clothes, and we only used one pack of newborn diapers the first week or so.
We have started taking her and Cole on some quick errands. She does well in her car seat, no crying and likes riding in the stroller when we are out or on walks in the neighborhood. We try to do tummy time every day. She doesn't seem to mind it too much, and has actually flipped herself onto her back a few different times. Her head control is getting better and better each day. She lays on her play mat or blanket a lot of times near wherever Cole is playing so we can all hang out. She's starting to have some more awake moments throughout the day, so we try to get some play time or books in before she gets tired again.
Cate has been such a great baby so far! She's pretty relaxed most of the time, and really only cries when she's hungry or tired. It's nice that it's more predictable this time around with the second baby. She does like to be held and rocked or just walked around to be a part of the action and whatever Cole is doing. She also loves the bath since we were able to get her into the water after her cord piece fell off. She loves just laying and relaxing in the water.
In case you are wondering if she looks like Cole at all...here's Cole at one month. I think they look a little bit alike, but Cate has a more girlie look to her."
It's been crazy how all the baby stuff just comes back when you have another one! We find ourselves, saying "oh yeah, remember when Cole did that". I've also been looking back at all the things I wrote down about Cole at this age to see what we have to look forward to. It's crazy to think in a few months she'll be sitting up, rolling over, and eating baby food...oh and sleeping through the night soon, we hope! I also remember being so overwhelmed with Cole as a newborn, and it's been so much easier to take everything in stride with Cate. I almost feel silly that one baby felt like so much because I'm doing all that plus everything with Cole too. It's been cute to see Cole interact with Cate. I know he's looking forward to when she will interact with him though. He asks everyday if she can talk yet. When she cries he says "Mommy, Cate needs us" and he likes to know where she is and what she's doing. Hopefully they will be good buddies as they get older.

Valentine's Day Fun

We started off our Valentine's Day with everyone waking up a little earlier than usual, but it worked out because we were able to get some fun things done before lunch time.

Cole and Cate wore their outfits from Nina and Pop Pop.
The first thing we did was go to Merritt's Bakery to let Cole pick out a special treat. He chose a cupcake for later, and we got a few little cookies to have as a snack.

Then, we went to Target to let Cole pick out a little toy for himself and then went to the park. It was super windy, but Cole had a lot of fun running around with the other kids. Cate and I just hung out and watched him.

We came home for our normal afternoon routine, but Cole did get to have his cupcake after dinner. Tony and I waited to eat until after the kiddos were sleeping, so we could have a little time together. We just got Chipotle to go!

Little Loves

We are so blessed by these little munchkins!  Cole says Cate loves him, but hopefully he's loving her too! :)

Sister Time

Well I guess I should say "Aunt Stace" time since Cole is obcessed with her!  Stacy came to visit us last weekend to meet Cate before her crazy season gets started. She made it on Thursday night despite all the craziness in the Atlanta airport. (Unfortunately her bags didn't make it here until Sunday when we got a bunch of snow!  It all worked out though. Good thing we can share clothes!)

On Friday, Stacy and I left the house very early to go to my old school, East Intermediate, to do a little appearance to thank Stacy for the DonorsChoose.org contributions she made at the beginning of the school year. She talked to the Dads who come for Dynamic Dads once a month and was thanked by the principal and superintendent.
She chatted with the girls golf team.
Signed some autographs.
And went around to a few other classrooms.
It was a fun time and I'm so glad I was able to go with her!  I love seeing her talking about golf and interacting with the kids.

The rest of the time, we really just hung out at home. We did take Cole and Cate to PB Kids so Cole could play with the toys. Haha!  Cheap entertainment when it's 20 degrees outside!  Good thing Stacy takes her downtime seriously and doesn't mind just hanging out.

Here she is doing her job as Aunt Stace!

Another Snow Day

Yesterday we got another winter storm and several inches of snow!  Luckily there wasn't much ice along with it and the roads have melted well today with the temps being above freezing for one day before we have the chance if more snow tomorrow.

When Cole saw the flakes coming down, he could not wait to get outside and play!  He had his snow plow truck out helping clear the yard.

We threw a few snow balls and you can see him standing in his snow angel.
He also helped Tony shovel the sidewalk, and he actually did a pretty good job!  Cole loves playing in the snow. I just wish we would have gotten him some boot and snow pants to make it a little easier to get him dressed to play. Maybe next time we will get it right and get him the proper gear for a year when we actually get a good amount of snow again.

Baby Cate's Room

Here are some pictures of Cate's room. I'd say it's mostly complete. We just need to put pictures in frames and set up the wall shelves a little more.

We used the same furniture we had for Cole. Her bedding is from Pottery Barn Kids. The print us Rifle Paper Co. And I made her quilt.
Here are some shelves and artwork on the side wall.
We got some more shelves from IKEA and painted them white to use for book storage.
Cate already has a collection of bows!  The picture in the frame on the right us something Cole painted for baby sister before she was born. We had to put that in her room!
This is the dresser/changing table space. It's hard to see but this wall is all stenciled with a white pattern.
I'm sure we will change things around as we start to accumulate more things for her, but we love how it's looking today!  Adding the artwork and little things for the walls and shelves makes it look and feel much more personalized and happy!
