Sick Little Man

I left school early yesterday and stayed home today with Cole-man because he has some kind of stomach bug. It's all so lovely cleaning up diapers and throw up. I have done tons of laundry today!

I hope he starts feeling better soon because I know he doesn't feel good either. He would rather be doing his normal stuff and playing. Good thing it's the weekend and he can get over it this weekend at home with us.

Arkansas vs. LSU Football Game

One of the super fun things we did over Thanksgiving was go over to Fayetteville, AR for the Arkansas/LSU game. The game is usually held in Little Rock, but it was on campus this year which worked our really well. The reason we went was because Stacy was being honored by the university for a large donation she made to help the golf program build a new indoor practice facility.

We did a little tailgating (aka try to keep Cole entertained) with Stacy's college golf coach, her husband, and some of their friends.

We all walked into the athletic building/football facility before the game to get down onto the field. Stacy had to do a little interview before, so we got this cute picture of Cole chowing down on some strawberries while we were waiting.
The we got to walk through the indoor area where all the players were and walked out onto the field. We took a bunch of pictures while we were waiting for all the pre-game stuff to start.
Then it was Stacy's turn to get ready! What the university has done is honor donors by doing the "A Walk". The band forms a big A that the players run through, but before the players come through, Stacy got to walk through the A while they were announcing and talking about her.

This is what it looked like from above.
She also got the red jacket (complete with shoulder pads!) to wear during the walk. She was the first female to do this and only the 2nd athlete. It was pretty awesome to have an entire football stadium of people cheering for her. Even the LSU fans were cheering. We were so happy that we were able to be there to experience it with her.
I love this picture of the three of us (plus Cole)!
We were able to watch the first series of the game on the sidelines and stole a quick family pic before the game started.
We watched the rest of the game in the Chancellor's box on the 50 yard line. Not a bad way to watch a game! Especially when it was in the 40s that day. We were nice and warm with lots of food.
One of the highlights for Cole was touching the nose of the Hog mascot before the game. He has this thing where he says "nose" touches the nose and then says "beep". So we say he does the nose-beep. :)

Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day was filled with lots of cooking and hanging out. Tony, Janet, and I were able to go for a run all bundled up because we got a pretty strong cold front on Thanksgiving Day. Janet wasn't used to that! Cole loved spending the day playing with his new truck and with everyone at the house. He got LOTS of attention!
Cole helped Nina set the table.
Watching Pop Pop cut the turkey & taste testing the turkey.
Everyone is ready to eat!
Cole wanted his own picture.
It was one of our best Thanksgiving dinners, I think. All the food turned out really good. We tried a brine from William Sonoma and it made the turkey really juicy. Definitely would do that again. We also had mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberry orange relish, and 3 different pies (pumpkin, chocolate, and peanut butter). YUM!
Stacy didn't really cook anything, but she pulled her weight doing dishes! There were LOTS of them!
Mister Center of Attention in full effect. He had a hard time getting calmed down at night and always wanted to stay up and play with everyone. I can't blame him...we are fun! :)

Early Present for Cole

With us having to travel for Christmas, we know we will have a full car coming back home. My parents drove to Tulsa for Thanksgiving and figured it would be a good idea to bring Cole an early Christmas present so we wouldn't have to bring it back from Texas at Christmas time. He got a cool, red 4-wheeler! It has a push button to make it go and he LOVES it! We ended up having to take turns outside with him because he lasted longer than we did!
He figured out how to work it pretty quickly.
Everyone was out watching Cole drive.
Cruising down the street.
We had quite a few pictures with the tongue out!

Route 66 Marathon

Last minute Tony decided to join a relay team with some guys from work for the Route 66 Marathon here in Tulsa. Tony ran the first 15 miles and two other guys split the rest.

Tony had a great run, under 7 minute miles easily. The weather was cool and cloudy but not cold.

Cole and I went out to see him finish his leg of the race. We got there about 45 minutes before we needed too. Cole and I cheered for the front runners. Cole was telling them to "run fast" and "hi" as they ran by. Then we wanted to run after them. We yelled for Daddy too of course! We were able to see him in two spots because they ran around a block and I could run with the stroller on a street in between to cut back to the other side.

Tony said he was impressed with the course. Hilly in some areas and went through cool areas of Tulsa. It was kind of windy he said, but that's Oklahoma for ya!

Cute Cole Videos

I had to share two cute videos of the little man from the past week or so...

We are practicing "Go Hogs" for Cole's first football game next weekend! We are going to Fayetteville for the Arkansas vs. LSU game where Stacy will be leading the team out on the field. We are super excited!

Just a little peek-a-boo after snack.

November, Already?!!

It's November and time for long PJ's around here. Cole spends quite a bit of his day on the weekends in them. :) On Sunday he wanted his picture taken...what? Who is this kid? Two different times he said "picture", smiled, and waited for us to take his picture. He even did some "cheeses" along with the smiles. He gave us some pretty cute little pictures...PJs and bed head. Love it!
He might have been on the picture kick because we had some family pictures taken on Saturday by our friend, Caroline. This is her Facebook page. She and her husband, Kevin, have two boys, one older and one younger than Cole. We had lunch with them after pictures and the boys had a fun time playing with trucks and trains.
We are anxiously awaiting our CD of pictures, and can't wait to share.

Little Marathoner

We took the little man out for some trick or treating on Wednesday evening. We didn't go last year because he was still so little, and we really just eased into it this year. I think we went up to about 5 houses total for candy, but Cole had a fun time walking and riding in the wagon.

Tony's parents were in town and were able to join us, which was really fun. Uma and Opa brought Cole a cool new cell phone to play with. It, of course, went trick or treating with us.
He kept saying "Hey" and putting it up to his ear to talk.

We decided to dress Cole as a little marathoner after seeing it in a Parent's magazine. I thought it was so cute and appropriate. One because we run, and two because HE runs all over! He got to wear my Chicago bib on his shirt too.
Cole wasn't quite sure what the trick or treat thing was all about, but we got him to hold his spider bag and say "trick or treat" a few times. We visited our neighbors, Travis & Candace, across the streee first. They are our same ages and married for a few years with no kids yet. So we always chat with them and Cole always wants to go see Travis at "Travis house" and recognizes "Travis truck".

Here's Cole knocking on his first door for trick or treating...well, actually he tried to just walk right in!
They were so sweet to Cole and got him a remote control car (it's a Vtech one). It plays music and has buttons and shapes on it. It's become a new favorite.
After going to our other neighbors that we know, Cole's attention turned to pulling the wagon.
So we mostly just walked around the neighborhood for awhile. Cole did end up riding in the wagon for the longer parts of the walk. He did a really great job. There were tons of kids out in our neighborhood too. I think he was just taking it all in.

We got two really cute pictures of Cole after going to our last house. He actually smiled and looked at the camera!
Before we started getting Cole ready for bed, we managed to get a few pictures of us and Uma and Opa with Cole.
Tony's parents stayed for pizza with us for dinner after Cole went to bed. We had a great time visiting and were happy that they were able to be there for a fun night!

This picture was from the day after Halloween when Cole tried his first piece of Halloween candy. He loved it of course, what's not to love about chocolate! Now he's still asking for "more Halloween snack".
*He did get a nice cut around his eye from falling off a chair at daycare that you can see in the pic.
