More Paris Sights

In Paris, we went to the palace and the gardens at Versailles. We had never been before, so Andie & the family went with us. We had a picnic lunch in the park and walked around the outside of the palace. We didn't go in the palace this time around. We have to leave something for next time! But we'd love to go back in the later spring or summer to see the flowers and trees in bloom. It was pretty amazing. Here are some pictures from that day.

We also went to the Louvre and saw the Mona Lisa. I had never been to the Louvre, but Tony had several years ago. The museum is huge, first of all. But we saw some paintings and stuck to the Egyptian artifacts section which was pretty cool.

I have also been bugging Tony about going to Saint Chappelle, one of the many churches in Paris. It is supposed to have the mose beautiful stained glass windows, and we have to agree. It is a tiny chapel and you have to pay to go in, but the stained glass is spectacular. It surrounds the whole chapel and tells many of the stories from various books in the Bible. You need binoculars to see all the way up!

Another new thing for us to do in Paris was to take a Seine River tour. It lasted about an hour. We went up and down the Seine and got to see the main sights of Paris from the Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame. We had a tour guide whose English was far from good. We could barely understand her English, but we had a brochure to read from and just enjoyed the views along the way. Our boat wasn't very crowded either which made it nice to be able to walk around and take different pictures. I had to put the picture below on here, because it is one of Tony's favorites...just kidding. I was supposed to get the whole Eiffel Tower in there, but turns out I'm not very good at taking the pictures. So I got a little crap for this picture, but it's cute of Tony. Hey, I just wanted to take a picture of him, not the Eiffel Tower...I don't think he'll believe that. :)
