Another Trip to Tulsa

Last weekend, I went to Tulsa to visit Tony and start looking at some houses up there. We wanted to start figuring out where we wanted to live and all that. The trip went well, and we ended up finding 2 houses that we like after looking at almost 20. Well, we talked things over with my parents and we really wanted them to come see the house and all that. It turns out the only time my parents can go between now and the middle of April, is this weekend. We decided we would just drive to Tulsa after my Dad got back in town on Friday afternoon. My Dad ended up finding out that we could travel to Tulsa with the least amount air miles that you can use. So now we are flying out tonight at 9:00pm and coming home in the afternoon on Sunday. Tony & I are taking my parents to see both of the houses that we liked to see if we want to make an offer on one of them. No word yet on anything prospects to buy our house in Houston. We are having an open house on Sunday and lowering the price. Lowering the price is not a bad deal for us though...without getting into all the details of our relocation package. I'm off to go pack now!

Happy Birthday to Me...since there's no one else say it on here

Again, it's been a really long time since I've written. The blog is struggling now that Tony's in Oklahoma & doesn't have that great of an internet connection in Bartlesville, where he's staying. He's so much better about writing things here and there.

Yesterday was my birthday...26 now! It started off kind of sad because Tony wasn't here, but my kids at school and my Mom & Stacy helped make it a lot better. My kids at school were so cute and sang to me and made little cards. Tony also sent me flowers to work, so the kids were pretty funny about that too. After school, my Mom, Stacy, and I went to pilates. This is our new thing that we've been doing for a little while now on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We went out to dinner at one of our favorite places, Black Walnut, afterwards. They brought one of those little square cookie cakes and we split that for dessert. :) I also got to see my friend Sarah for a little bit since she asked me to come by. It was a busy day and I didn't get home until 9:00 last night. But it was really nice to be around family & friends all day yesterday. Made me feel very loved on my bday. :)

I'm leaving to go to Tulsa today after school. Tony and I are planning on doing a little bit of house hunting this weekend. No word on anything with our current house. It's been on the marked now for almost 2 weeks and only one visit. So we keep waiting on that one. I can't wait to go see Tony though. These weeks go by so slowly! We are counting down the days now until Spring Break when we go on vacation and can spend more than 2 days together. I'm trying to keep a positive attitude even though it's really hard sometimes.

It's been awhile since Tony or I have written on here. We've been busy, I guess.

Happy Birthday to my Mom! She had milestone birthday yesterday. We won't talk about how old she is because she says it sounds old. :) The whole family (all 6 of us!) were able to go out to eat for my Mom's birthday on Saturday. We went to Jasper's. It was really good and nice to have everyone together.

Tony started working in Tulsa last week and came home last weekend. Things are going well so far with his new job and he really enjoys the normal hours and normal work environment. It has been hard being apart during the week, but we have a long way to go, so I need to get used to it. Been keeping busy between twice a week pilates classes, grading, keeping the house picked up and watching tv.

Our house in Houston is on the market now. If you want to check it out, here's the link. Our realtor put together a cute virtual tour. I think it looks pretty good. I wonder how long it's going to take before we have someone want to come see it? It's definitely weird having a For Sale sign in the front yard. We hope it won't be for too long.

In other news, Stacy plays in her first LPGA tournament of the season this week/weekend. She left for Hawaii on Sunday. My parent's are leaving on Wednesday to go watch. We'll be watching the computer from Texas waiting for the scores to come in!

That's pretty much what we've been up to for the past week. Tony is coming to Houston again this weekend. We are going out for sushi on Valentine's day. I'll be heading up there the following weekend where hopefully we'll be able to do some first round house hunting.

More Painted Letters!

I took my "O" to the baby shower and my friend loved it. She has another daughter who has the letters of her name painted on the wall. So...I offered to paint the rest of Olivia's name. Since I'm home alone during the week, I've used the time to paint. Here's the rest of her name...

Things are really different right now. I'm writing from Bartlesville, OK, watching the Super Bowl by myself while Beth is back in Houston. I don't think I've ever watched the Super Bowl by myself. I knew this would be hard, but I'm already feeling how hard it's going to be with us being apart from each other.

Yesterday Beth and I drove up from Houston to Bartlesville. On the way, we stopped in Tulsa to check out houses. We ended up looking at over 20 houses so we could try and get a feel for Tulsa and what we liked and didn't like. Out of the houses we saw, we really liked two. And those two are completely different. One is brand new, never been lived in out in a suburb of Tulsa. The other is older, in a more established neighborhood right in the middle of everything.

After looking at houses for what seemed like hours, we decided to go have dinner at The Brook. I had only been there once and it has been many years, but I was glad to see that the food and service were both great and we really enjoyed our meal.

After dinner, we drove to Bartlesville and ended up falling asleep almost immediately. Today we got up, had breakfast, and then went grocery shopping. That was quite an adventure. I had never seen a Wal-Mart more crowded than the one in Bartlesville. After grocery shopping, we went running and then it was time to get ready and take Beth to the airport.

Dropping Beth off at the airport wasn't much fun. Although I know I'm going to see her in a few days and we will get to spend the whole weekend together next weekend(I would otherwise be working in my old job), just being apart isn't much fun. I absolutely can't wait for the next few months to be over with and for Beth and I to be together in Tulsa.
