Days Off

Because I am now working shift work, I have kind of a weird schedule. And although I love having three days in a row off, I've come to realize that my days off aren't near as much fun when Beth is working and I'm at home. After being off Saturday and Sunday and spending all day with Beth, I'm rather disappointed when Monday rolls around and I still have one more day off while Beth is back at work. I will say though, it's going to be great in the summertime when we can spend tons of time together on my days off, no matter what day of the week it is.

We did have a pretty good weekend even if we didn't do much. Saturday we went on a mission to find Beth some boots. Ever since we went two-stepping in College Station back in the Spring, she's been wanting boots. Janet had told her about a place down near Midtown called Texas Junk that sells a bunch of junk, but more importantly sells cowboy boots. So we made our way down there and sure enough, they had boots, lots of boots. Beth was able to find some and we spent 1/3 of the normal price for them. Now we can't wait to go two-stepping again!

After getting boots for Beth, we stopped by a few furniture stores as we've been looking to upgrade our bedroom furniture from our current Ikea stuff. Ikea's great, don't get me wrong, but a lot of their stuff isn't exactly made to last forever. We ended up stopping by Star Furniture that had just opened near our house. And surprise surprise, we actually found some furniture we like. Now we are just trying to figure out if that is in fact what we want and if it is, how we are going to pay for it. Furniture isn't cheap and if you're going to spend the money, you better like what you're buying.

Saturday night was not a good night for Beth. Unfortunately her Longhorns lost to Texas Tech. And although I'm happy they lost because it helps my Sooners, I was rather annoyed watching all of the Tech fans on TV. What I can't stand about certain college sports fans, is if you beat their team and their team isn't that good, they just blow it off and say, "oh, well you should have beaten us, our team is terrible." But the second their team has a good year or even just a good game, they want to talk trash and keep talking trash to no end. Either you support your team no matter what, or you don't support your team at all. Texas has beaten Tech I don't know how many times, where were all those Tech fans then? Just a thought. So what did Beth and I do on Saturday night when both of our teams were playing at the same time? See below:
