Thailand Part 2

After arriving in Phuket and spending the first day relaxing, we had dinner at an upscale restaurant near our hotel called Silk. It was pretty good and we both realized that they actually have food here that we can eat. Below is a pic of our dinner:

Day 2, Beth and I decided to rent a car. Keep in mind that they drive on the wrong side of the road over here. In doing my research for our honeymoon, I had come across a car rental place that seemed to be close to our hotel. We called them up and ten minutes later they were at our hotel with a car. One signature later, the car was ours. No drivers license, credit card, or collateral for the car needed. We paid in cash and they said they'd be back the next day to get the car. Beth and I looked at each other like, are you serious? But oh well. When in Thailand, do as the Thais do. Below is a pic of our sweet ride:

Having the car was great. We went and explored more of Phuket. We went hiking near a waterfall and then drove over to the crazy part of the island called Patong Beach. There we walked around, went shopping, and walked on the beach. We even went to Swensen's for ice cream. I remember going to Swensen's when I was 8 or 9 years old when we went to the Lake of the Ozarks. Nothing's changed, it was some great ice cream!

Beth had a hot fudge sundae, I had chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate!

Sounds like you are having a wonderful time. Enjoy every minute. What is the name of your hotel? Is it a local resort? Are there a lot of hotels in the area, or does it sit off by itself? Beautiful beach!!

Yay!!!! Glad to have the update and that you guys are having fun! That ice cream looks just like I remembered from our trip to the Ozarks. Can't wait to see you when you get back!

PS: Gab is still saying that it's "Aunt B's birthday" I think he got confused with the wedding cakes and birthday cakes!
