Bridal Shower Pictures

Tony already mentioned that I had my bridal shower yesterday hosted by the Flamingo Mamas! The Flamingos really know how to throw a shower...let me tell you! They have had quite a bit of practice lately. It was a Texas themed shower and every single decoration and food item fit the theme so perfectly. Mrs. MacDonald offered her house for the shower which was so very nice and is a Texas ranch style house. I don't think I'd ever want to leave if I lived there. It's beautiful. It was so nice to see so many of my friends and my Mom's friends. Both of my sisters came into town for the weekend which made my weekend!

I cannot express how awesome it is to have so many friends and family who are so excited for Tony and I. The gifts everyone brought were perfect and will be put to good use in our new house. We've already started organizing and putting things where we want them. I think Tony got a lot of the things he wanted including the espresso maker, ice cream maker, and sandwhich maker to name a few. I was excited about getting all of our every day dishes...and every thing basically! Tony and I really feel loved and it's just a celebration of such a big thing in our lives together. So thank you to everyone who came and those who couldn't come but sent a gift and their well wishes too. It means so much to me.

Some highlights of the shower...great food (BBQ turkey, Texas caviar, Cowboy casserole, etc.), drinks in cups shaped like a cowboy boot, and making up country songs about Tony and I and then performing them for me. It was hilarious!

Getting Closer

Yesterday put us officially 99 days away from our wedding. I honestly can't believe how time has flown by. So many things have changed since Beth and I got engaged and since we started booking things for our wedding. Beth and I have both changed jobs since(and are both much happier as well). We have moved once and are in the process of moving again. We have built a new house and are now in the process of moving stuff in.

These next three months are going to be a lot of fun. Beth has her shower next week as well as her bachelorette party. A few weeks after that, I'm going to Chicago for my bachelor party. I can't wait to get to hangout with some of my lifelong friends that I don't get to see too often, but will all be a part of our wedding as well. Not too long after I get back from Chicago, Beth will be wrapping up her school year and we will be flying to Dubai for 10 days with my family. Sean and Kelsey are graduating high school and I'm still having a hard time believing it.

After we get back from Dubai, we really only have a little over a month until our wedding. It's going to be a great time to see all of our friends and family and to celebrate with them, such a great moment in our lives.

Long Day

I left for work this morning at 5 a.m. and didn't get home tonight until after 7. Needless to say, it was a really long day! I basically have a few hours tonight at home before I need to go to bed and be up tomorrow morning by 4:35. Fun fun. The new job has been going well. I am working for a really great company and feel really blessed to be a part of it. My job itself has taken some getting used to, but I know I won't be doing this job forever and I just need to learn as much as I can as quickly as possible so I can move on to something else.

Ok, a little clarification from Tony's last post. Since my Mom made a comment saying that it might come across the wrong way and since Andie kind of felt like we were talking about it goes...

With the whole wedding thing, we realize and completely understand why there are some people who can't make it. Some of my relatives have health issues preventing them from traveling or don't have the finances right now or even have to work on the particular weekend that our wedding is on. By no means do we feel like they don't want to be at our wedding though. I know it's very, very disappointing to my grandparents because they won't be able to come. My grandma tells me every time I talk to her, and I wish they were able to come. But they can't. It's not an easy decision, but that's how things work sometimes. You just do what you have to do.

For some people, it's not easy for them to afford to come to the wedding, but they want to find a way to make it work. We are so happy that those people are willing to do that and are so thankful that they want to be there on our special day. We greatly appreciate the sacrifices that they have to make, and one day I'm sure we will be faced with something similar.

I don't really want to say too much about who Tony was specifically talking about because I don't know if they read the blog and I don't want to offend. It wasn't meant to come off like, if you don't come to our wedding then forget you and we're better off. We really do not feel that way at all. It wasn't meant to be a general comment, more specific to a certain situation. Please don't take that the wrong way because we honestly completely understand why some people are not able to attend our wedding and for most it's not that they don't want to be there. I hope that helps explain where Tony was coming from and how I feel about this as well.

Bachelor Weekend

It's crazy to think that we are already into April and our wedding is only a little over three months away. Oh how time flies by. We booked our wedding site in July of last year. I remember thinking at the time, where do we even start planning a wedding? Welp, we figured it out and here we are, not too far away now. And things are all falling into place. Although our guest list has grown......and grown.....and grown a little bit more, I think we're going to make it. Some people who I had assumed would want to be at our wedding, aren't going to be there and looking at it now, I wouldn't want it any other way. The reason for this, is that we want people there who WANT to be there. As you start planning this kind of thing, you really start seeing how important our wedding is to some. And it means a lot. We know that financially, it's not very easy for some people to just pack up and come to our wedding, but yet we've heard time and time again people telling us that they will be at our wedding no matter what. And Beth and I feel very honored by this.

So as we are getting closer to the wedding, things are falling into place. Like Beth's shower which is approaching quickly as well as her bachelorette party. Woo hoo!!! This brings me to my bachelor party/weekend. We weren't really quite sure what we were going to do as everyone kind of lives in different places. My friend Matt and I were talking the other day and just randomly through out the idea of going to Chicago for the weekend. I checked flights and now we're booked. Me and about six of my guy friends from the wedding party will be flying to Chicago and spending the weekend there, going to a Cubs game, and just spending the nights out on the town. It should be fun and Chicago's a great place.

Three weeks after I get back from Chicago, Beth and I leave for Dubai!!! And we can't wait for that either! My Mom and I were talking yesterday about all the things we can do while we're there. I can't wait for Beth to see everything and also see all of the new stuff that wasn't there when I was there a few years ago.

We have been slackers on the blog this week. Tony started his new job this week and is working 6 am to 2 pm. They are nice hours, but he's on his feet all day and gets worn out during the day. He's napped a couple afternoons and has run errands the other days. He's enjoying learning about a new company eventhough he might not be too trilled about what he's having to do in order to learn everything. We both know that it'll pay off in the end and this part of it is very short term.

I spent the week doing my ususal school stuff. We are 3 weeks away from the TAKS test now! YEAH! I'm not dreading the TAKS test. I can't wait for it to be over.

Our running the past month has not been as strong either. We ususally do our long runs on the weekend because we are so tired after work that there's no way we could do more than 5 or 6 miles. Most of the time we only manage 4. Well, our weekends are now full of painting and doing stuff at our new house since we have help from my parents on the weekends. Janet has also been a huge help with the painting. We are happy to say that this might be our last weekend of painting. We are almost done! As soon as we get stuff moved in, we'll be back to our normal running routine.

Today we went to church already and have plans to get more paint, get some rugs from Target, and get back to painting and putting up ceiling fans. We'll post pictures of the new painting projects when they are completed. Gotta go change into painting clothes and get going!
