This Weekend

Well, the weekend is finally here and I think we're all glad for that. Beth and I don't really have a ton of plans for this weekend, but we have enough to keep us busy. Tonight we are driving up to The Woodlands to take care of something at the house for my Mom. And since we'll be up in The Woodlands, we have decided to go eat at Mel's Country Cafe in Tomball. I'm sure most people haven't heard of Mel's but it's safe to say it's home cooking at its best. If you can fry it, you better believe they serve it. Mel's is actually known for the Mega Mel burger which may make you sick just reading my description of it. The Mega Mel Burger(pictured below) consists of a pound and a half of beef, three quarters of a pound of bacon, a quarter pound of cheese, a head of lettuce, a whole onion, a whole tomato, and a couple of whole pickles. Did I mention mayo and mustard? If you can eat the Mel Burger in less than 2 hours, you get a coupon for a free one the next time you come to Mel's and you also get your name on the wall. I personally think they should offer you a coupon for a free cholesterol screening after you get done. Just a thought.

Tomorrow Beth and I are watching football!!!! And we also need to go to the mall. We have our engagment pictures coming up and of course we need to get new outfits!!! We're not really sure what we're going to wear yet. I'm not too concerned. I'm more concerned that it not be 100 degrees outside when we get our pictures taken in a couple of weeks. Nothing says in love like two people sweating profusely in their engagment pictures, right?

Sunday we are working with Sweet Leaf Tea at the Bayou Arts Festival in downtown Houston. Should be fun. I've never been before but have heard great things about it. We'll let you know.

You're right, I did eat that burger. I think I still feel sick from it too and that was three years ago!
